I‘ve been there…

First let me say if you want to look like a fitness model, I’m not the coach for you.  I’m a 48 year old wife and cat mom, who wants to enter her 50’s in better shape and health.  If you want to learn sustainable lifestyle hacks for healthy weight loss and improved nutrition, we can work together.

I spent my 30’s in a high stress field as a Brand Manager for a successful Wines and Spirits company in Bermuda, doing exactly what you would think a job like that entails.  So when we moved to Canada, I was jobless, friendless and adrift.  Eating my feelings and trying to figure out what to do with myself, I stumbled into different fields seeking fulfillment and growth, pinballing from diet to failure.  Then the pandemic hit and I began my one woman campaign to single-handedly save every bakery, brewery and barbecue restaurant in the GTA.  I did my best and it became apparent when I tried to put on actual trousers for the first time in 18 months!  The mirror was unkind, and don’t even get me started on the scale!  I realized I needed to change, so I calorie counted, started running, cut out everything, bought exercise equipment, lost some weight, gained some back, hurt myself, signed up for umpteen workout plans, cried a lot; rinse repeat.  By the end of the year, I was over it, I lost 50lbs, but I was tired of weighing my food, doing workouts I didn’t enjoy and judging myself by standards I couldn’t and frankly didn’t really want live up to.  I wanted to be healthy, feel better about myself and move free of discomfort.

To that end I started to read, research and study about the unique needs of perimenopausal women, culminating in me getting certified as a Holistic Nutrition Coach.  I came to the conclusion that while a lot of resources exist for fitness, diets and weight loss; too much emphasis is placed on exercise and restrictive eating without taking the individual needs of the client in context.  I will work with you “where you are”, customizing to fit your needs and helping you be a healthier, happier you.  There’s a reason for your cravings, you don’t have to spend your life in the gym and you can improve your wellbeing without making unrealistic changes.  So if you feel I can be of assistance, please reach out for a no obligation chat!

Progress over perfection

I know it seems like a cliche, but there are so many benefits to improved nutrition. Aside from weight loss; balancing blood sugar, having better gut health, decreasing inflammation can all be achieved by making a few basic changes to the diet.

Experienced

I’ve tried many diets and fads, signed up for more weight loss gimmicks than I care to admit, and the one thing that became clear to me, is eating right sustainably is often overlooked. It is possible to lose weight using a few of these, but in the long term the weight usually returns as soon as you ”go back to normal”. I wanted off the diet roller coaster, and I want to help you off it too.
